Table: UC Davis research funding is steadily rising UC Davis has one of the fastest-growing and largest university research budgets in the nation at $426 million.

Of UC Davis research funding, 56 percent came from the federal government.

More than $59 million in research funding came from business, industry and private sources. International, state and local governments and agencies provided $65 million in research funding.

UC Davis researchers reported 98 new inventions in 2001-02, with 91 patent applications filed. UC Davis was issued 37 U.S. patents and 45 foreign patents.
