Media Calendar: Weed Day

July 16, Thursday – The latest developments in agricultural weed control will be showcased when scientists, students, regulators and farm advisors gather for the 53rd annual Weed Day at UC Davis. The event will begin at 8 a.m. and include a bus tour to campus research fields to view demonstrations and ongoing research related to land-based and aquatic weed control. There will be spray-drift demonstrations on young almond trees and explanations of current research projects involving tomatoes, melons, rice and other plants. Other studies to be highlighted will be related to yellow starthistle, jatropha and switch grass. More information and registration are available at http://wric.ucdavis.edu.
